PlayDead’s Inside Makes Us Feel Weird

Firstly this game kind of just crept up on us. Our Inside imminent release senses didn’t tingle until we bumped into reviews of game. It is receiving many positive reviews and some even calling it a master piece. So we decided to buy the game and play it for ourselves.

giphy (2)

The game doesn’t take any time to introduce the characters or what is going on in its world. Instead it asks the player to find out for themselves. You take control of a nimble pre-teen boy running from unknown forces that seem to want to kill us (we think). They are not afraid to shoot you or send their dogs on you. At this point we know that something is very very wrong in this world. The queue of what we think are humans being hurried into trucks to be taken somewhere is another reminder to the player to just keep running.

giphy (1)

You do eventually escape your pursuers and are met with some quite nice puzzles that tickle your brain. Regardless though many questions arise. Why are we (humans) being shipped of somewhere. Who are these oppressors, why did they kill all our live stock ( well most ), who is this boy we are controlling, why is he on the run, why was he not captured like everyone else. There is also the matter of why all the other captured humans walk around like a bunch of zombies. We at one point actually control a few with a weird head device (shiver). Kind of reminds us of the parasite bugs from limbo. We are going to do posts on each episode we play through on our YouTube channel. Please do join us on this journey on what we think is going to one of the best games of this year. Here is part 1:

Creepy Cat | Hard Feelings

Welcome to a new short playthrough of a free game called Hard Feelings. You can get the game here. All the events in this game happen in a single house with a creepy cat that seems to want to get you through a basement door. When we finally get into the basement room there is a man with a bag on his head. There are some missing posters in the room and oh forgot to mention we shoot him. Don’t really know if he kidnapped the missing people or we are the kidnapper ourselves. As always the video is at the bottom of this post.

What Happened To The Cat | Grounded Part 4

Welcome everyone to another episode of Grounded. As always you can watch this playthrough at the bottom of this post.

Last episode we found the little girl in a room filled with photos. Since we hadn’t explored the east wing much we decided to look around and we found a safe with a letter near it. It seemed that someone in the hospital was trying to help someone else get inside the safe. The letter said something of some sort of message holding the pass code to the safe.

After looking around we found an over-crowded poster with all sorts of things on it. We hadn’t realized that this was actually the pass code to the safe. There was a letter addressed to Kathy outside her office. The letter said that she kept the key to her office in a portrait photo of her. So off we went to get the key.

family photo

We found the key behind her portrait located in the staff lounge. After that we decided that maybe we should go get our family portrait to give to the girl. This might persuade her to follow us.

bread sticks cat

Sadly the game didn’t want to bring the two characters together that quickly. Our step-father was blocking the way back to the East wing. We used Kathy’s key to get inside the office and found a scared cat. The game wanted us to use the cat to distract our step-father, but the cat wouldn’t budge without a snack. We went and retrieved bread sticks for it.

father cat

We used the bread sticks to get the cat and it distracted our step-father opening the way to the girl. We arrived to where she was, gave her the photo and she joined our party. This is where the episode ends.

Let’s Play Asteroids | Dead Space : Part 4

Welcome everyone to yet another Girl vs Game episode. April soldiers on through this great classic. As always you can watch the playthrough at the bottom of the post.

The chapter begins the way that every other chapter does. Isaac walks out of the tram and we get a little update on the situation. This chapter we are trying to repair the asteroid defense system of the Ishimura. We get to the bridge and go downstairs to where Hammond is. He tells us what to do and warns us that there is something big out there. Something we need to watch out for.

Right after meeting with Hammond we go back up to the bridge and would you look at that. We get a surprise visit from the brute. This is the big thing that Hammond was talking about earlier. The battle is long and hard as we use our strongest weapon to attack its weak point. Isaac comes out victorious and we head forward to our objective.

We entered a new area of the ship. The game introduces us to a new gameplay mechanic. Gravity is our friend as any necromorph is instantly thrown up into the ceiling and killed.

The game thought that the previous Brute was too easy for us so it decided to give us another but this time in a very small space.Yeah it didn’t end so well for us. After a few tries we managed to kill it and transferred power to the asteroid defense system.

We left that place and headed up to the bridge where we fought countless leapers. They were not fun at all. We then went down to the bottom floor of the bridge to re-route the control system junction box. After having fun in the room of death we made our way to the third floor.

The third floor started off really weird. A man appeared and said “Make us whole again”. This is usually something that is said by someone who is intoxicated by the marker. After bringing the asteroid defense system online we then had to cross the top side of the ship out in space. This was pretty awesome. We were trying to get to the asteroid defense system guns. We eventually got there after dodging some space debris.

Let the games begin. Manning the massive cannons to destroy large rocks started out fun. It lasted half an hour because we couldn’t survive long enough for Hammond to fix the automatic asteroid defense system. We eventually lasted long enough, crossed back to the bridge and headed towards the tram. This is where the episode ends.

Nicole Is That You ? | Dead Space : Part 3

Welcome everyone to this week’s Dead Space episode. You can watch the episode at the bottom of the post. Enjoy.

Isaac is tasked with refueling the main engine and fix the Ishimura’s gravity problem as it is being dragged down by the debris. We pick up a audio file. It seems as though the ship slowly fell into chaos as the infection started to spread. We make our way across what seems to be a large engineering space. We moved a few switches and the engine started to be refueled.

We now take Isaac towards gravity centrifuge. We encounter the bird type of necromorph that infects dead bodies. The bodies they infect end up being stronger than the usual slasher. After upgrading our weapons and getting the flame thrower we soldier on. We get stuck in a room as the ship’s A.I complains about contamination (referring to the necromorphs)

There is a creature that has been making large noises from a distance. It has made some holes in a wall where it had pulled a previous victim. We enter the gravity centrifuge room and start clearing the rom so that we can re engage the artificial gravity. We attach the generator modules and this creates a vacuum and there is a large rotating structure going around that could kill us.

We manage to leave and are instantly attacked by the tentacle monster. After shooting its weak points it lets us go and dies. We continue on to the fuel storage. After a battle out in space we make our way to what you would think is the loudest room you have ever heard.

After the loud room we see just how much the ship has been affected by the infection. The walls and doors are covered in whatever this organic life form is. We make it to the central computer that controls the refueling. We take a stand as the computer goes through the process of setting things up. Eventually the engines are fired and the ship is now moving away from the planet it cracked.

We make our way back to the tram and someone sounding like Nicole is trying to communicate to us via the radio. The question is how would she know that Isaac is even on the ship. We smell sabotage. We make it to the tram and that is where the episode ends.

He’s Not Breathing | Grounded : Part 3

Welcome everyone to the next episode of Grounded. As always you can watch the episode here.

not breathing

After the great chase that was in the previous episode we hid in our room. The chase ended and now we heard back to the ICU to check up on the man we were helping. Upon arriving there we pick up a staff room key but we find out that the injured man died. We don’t know if he died of his injuries or if he was killed by our stepfather.

Most of this episode is about fetch things to find a way to get the East Wing key. We end up finding our way to the staff lounge. We pick up a paperclip which we need to use to access one of the rooms in the dorms. We use the paperclip to unlock the door and we get some information about what happened to the hospital. The hospital collapsed and the outside world is trying to dig us out.

janitors room

We then go to the vault with the passcode which we were given by the walkthrough guide as we couldn’t get one of the puzzles to start. We get money from the vault, we have no idea what this money will be useful for. The janitor’s note we found earlier in the playthrough said that we need to get a string and a magnet.

east wing

We find the string in one of the rooms near the rest room and the magnet in the staff kitchen. We put these two items together and go searching for this sink that apparently has the East Wing key. We eventually find the key in the female staff toilets. We finally make our way to the East Wing.

After walking around the even more creepy area we find a girl who doesn’t seem to want to talk to us. She doesn’t seem injured. We also somehow managed to break the game somehow as our character could walk of the map. This is where we end this episode.

Thank you for reading this episode and thank you for all of the support.

STARS | Resident Evil 3 Nemesis

Welcome everyone to this week’s Quick Look. We are playing what I (Ace) personally feel is the best resident evil game to date. As always you can watch the playthrough here.

hard mode

Straight off the bat this game isn’t playing fair. There is no normal mode just hard and easy. Not to be seen as a wuss we put it on hard mode.

(Is that Jeff my neighbor?)

The opening cinematic tells us about Raccoon city was under the control of Umbrella. Things went wrong and a virus they had made ravaged the city. A lot of police and special forces were called in to no avail. It seems that these zombies are just too awesome for anyone to handle.

We are blown through some front doors and straight into the action. We had forgotten the controls of this game and just how awkward they were. We are surrounded by zombies so we narrowly escape and enter a warehouse. There is a angry father who lost his daughter who doesn’t seem to listen to reason.

alive dude

We walk around looking for some things we could use and we find the warehouse key. There is a large box with things like ammo. We leave the warehouse and venture back out into the streets of Raccoon City. Horror games may have come a long way but this play dead trick is still being used today.

eating alive

The city does really seem like it is going to hell cause some people are being eaten alive on the streets. We see someone fighting off some zombies and we decide to follow him. We find ourselves in a bar.

eaten again

Jill to the rescue. Even if we are too late. The guy is having chunks taken out of him by one of the zombies. We tag team together to get rid of the zombie. After talking to him for awhile he warns us that there is someone hunting STARS members.

Back to the streets we go. Hard mode is really taking its toll on us. We find some oil in a down alley that we need to use on a gate that has some wire on it. We had to fight some more zombies just to get some time to open the gate.We eventually got the lighter to work and opened the gate.

We got attacked by the infamous zombie dogs. After dealing with them and restocking on some ammo we soldiered on. We finally get to the police station where the star of the show appears.

Nemesis himself. The fight begins and we empty clips upon clips. Luckily we have our trusty dodge and roll. He seems to grab us a lot. If you allow him to grab you for long enough he will kill you instantly with his tentacle hand. After some time we do defeat him and enter the police station. This is where we end the episode.

Your Shifts Aren’t Over Just Yet

Five Nights at Freddy’s 4 announced and is currently slated for a Halloween release date. It seems Scott Cawthon wasn’t ready to put the animatronics to sleep just yet. Maybe this time Scott has a different game plan for this one as it also says in the image that this is the final chapter. Only time will tell.

Silent Hills Falls Silent

After weeks and weeks of speculation and rumors. Today Konami has finally put the facts straight. Now that Kojima will not be working as part of the Konami team, it seems that the project that he was working on for the company will not continue after his departure. This game had potential with Del Toro lending a hand and Norman Reedus as the lead actor. Sadly we will never know what would have come out of this combo of great minds.

Grounded | RPG Maker Horror Game

Grounded is a 2d horror game released in 2013 for free. It follows the story of a girl called Scarlet who wakes up in what seems to be an empty hospital after something happened between her and her step-father.

In our first playthrough which you can watch below, we find out just how creepy a game can be without music. The silence is broken by your character’s foot steps and the occasional sound of dripping water. After wondering around for awhile we meet a doctor who informs us that we should should meet him in ICU. The conversation makes it apparent that the hospital is falling apart as screaming would have brought down the roof above us.

Making our way to the ICU is no easy task as you get this lingering feeling that you might be being watched or followed. Upon reaching our destination we find an injured man. To save him from bleeding out we take it upon ourselves to go fetch some bandages and medicine. This is where this episode ends.
