Zombieland…”the”Facebook and now LEX LUTHOR

The first image of Jesse Eisenberg as the villainous Lex Luthor in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hlex-luthor (jesse)as been released, showing the balding villain in what appears to be a prison jumpsuit.

Entertainment Weekly has the exclusive image, accompanied by director Zack Snyder reassuring potential Lex fans that Eisenberg more than has the acting chops to pull the role off. Now that we’ve seen the image, we reckon he’s not too far off on the look either.

What do you think about this incarnation of the “Man of Steel’s” arguably most pivotal nemesis?

(Ace)Review Saturday Home (2015) Tears Flowed From My Eyes

I went home for the weekend after a long time and the first thing I did was take my niece and nephew to the cinema. They had been very hyped for this movie while I had barely known much about it. I didn’t expect much from it and man was I wrong. Without further a due let us begin.

An alien race called the Boov decide to make earth their home while trying to run from another alien race which seems to hunting them down. They arrive on earth, relocate us to Australia and take residence in our homes. During all this time they think they are actually helping us because we are dumb and can’t take care of ourselves. About 3/4 of the film is spent with the main characters traveling across the world to undo a mistake that could inevitably end all life as we know it. The movie plays around with themes such as fitting in to a group, friendship, family and companionship.

Jim Parsons aka Sheldon voices Oh. A cute small color changing Boov who doesn’t fit in with his own race. He is joined by Tip voiced by Rihanna. Tip is a brave wide eyed adventurous girl who is search for her mother.

The character development was done well enough that I actually really really cared for the characters. There is a scene which had me literally fighting my tears. It was at that point I looked to my niece and nephew ages 11 and 4 and noticed I wasn’t the only one being hit by emotion. My nephew was literally crying which I never thought he would. He likes to act like a tough guy you see. I had to hold him and tell him everything was alright as it really hit him hard. That made it even harder for me not to cry. After that I had gained a new respect for the film. It was then I knew that the movie had done a great job at making its audience care.

The movie is accompanied by various Rihanna songs and some pretty great musical scores. There were scenes that had nothing but music playing which I thought showed how confident the makers of the film were in their sound track.

Visually Home looks really great. The Boov wiggle and giggle when they move around. One big thing was that the Boov show their emotion through the color they change to. Green for lying, red for anger etc. The scale of the locations was actually a little breath taking at some points. The effects popped and everything was detailed really well.

The voice acting is pretty good all round with Jim Parsons sounding the best. As a warning the corny and cuteness levels in this movie are very high. Some of their lines are a little cringey but they somewhat help these characters grow on you. All in all Home looked and sounded great.

Closing comments

I was skeptical about this movie because I thought it was just another cog in the wheel of family movies, I was wrong. Home is a great film with great characters and some funny jokes too. I would recommend watching this by yourself or with your family.

Kept You Waiting Huh!! Weekly News 2nd March – 8th March

Welcome to a blog post series where we recap all the news from the past week that we found interesting or wanted to share with everyone.

Metal Gear Solid 5 Release Date

This week it was revealed that the next iteration of Metal Gear Solid would be released 1st September 2015. That date is for consoles and the PC version will release two weeks later 😦 Why Kojima why??!! Also Kojima also said that this will be the last one in the series. Do we believe him? I don’t know only time will tell as Kojima is a notorious troll.

Unreal Engine 4 is FREE!!!

For all you developers who were having doubts about opting to use Unreal Engine 4 because of its price, doubt no more. The game development engine is now free. This includes full access to all the c++ code as well. The only thing that Epic Games asks of you is that you pay 5% royalty on the gross revenue following the first $3,000 per product, per quarter. Doesn’t seem like a bad deal to us.

Street Fighter 5 Release Date…Kinda

Capcom has stated that the next Street Fighter game will be released sometime next spring. To remind everyone though the game is only in development for PC and PS4. So Xbox One owners won’t have the opportunity to play this great fighting game on their consoles sadly, but hey that’s gaming.

Leonard Nimoy

On a side not that is unrelated to gaming news. We know there has already been many tributes done for the passing of this great man last week Friday but we have yet to publicly send out our condolences to Leanard Nimoy’s family. He was a great man and an inspiration to all of us as we all grew watching Star Trek. His final tweet read :

” A life is like a garden. Perfect moments can be had, but not preserved, except in memory. LLAP “

Truly a great man. You will forever be in our memories. Live Long And Prosper

Jared Leto has revealed he’s gaining weight to play The Joker in the upcoming Suicide Squad movie.Suicide-Squad-Comic-Logo-Movie

Speaking to Billboard magazine, Leto branded the character a “beautiful disaster” before saying how comics are evolving to include characters that are almost Shakespearean in their sSQ new 52cope.

“I’m trying to gain a lot of weight,” he told the outlet while eating vegan tacos. “It means I have to eat every couple of hours — and I’m terrible at eating a lot.

“The opportunity to take on this nearly Shakespearean character — that’s what graphic novels and comic books are becoming, right? This beautiful disaster of a character — what a big challenge.”

David Ayer will direct Suicide Squad, which also stars Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Jai Courtney, and Cara Delevingne. Joel Kinnaman, Viola Davis and Jesse Eisenberg are also in various stages of negotiations to join the cast. Filming begins in April, with a planned release date of August 5, 2016.
