TGIF: This Game Is Fun

Well it is Friday so why not have a run down of what has been fun this week.

We start this week with an update on the Final Fantasy XV film titled ‘Kingsglaive.’ Square Enix have recently updated the Japanese site  for the upcoming title with new character information and still photos; all looking a lush as the FFXV world has been so far.

The film is expected to release just before Final Fantasy XV’s launch date (30 September) and will set the pace of what is happening in Lucis whilst Noctis & friends are on their own main storyline journey.

“SOME ARE SOLDIERS, WE ARE GHOSTS. We operate far beyond legions and armies, following our own rules. We change the fate of nations from the shadows. We are legends. We are GHOSTS.”

Ubisoft this week revealed the new trailer with showing in game action alongside information on the 4 editions of ‘Ghost Recon: Wildlands’ that will be available; which are:

  • Standard
  • Deluxe
  • Gold
  • Collector

Ubisoft also advertised that any pre-orders will receive a bonus mission set in Bolivia.

On a rather nervous note, upcoming game title No Man’s Sky, has been rumoured to have been delayed. The game was set to be released on June 21st but this seems to have been pushed back. At this moment and time it is still speculation but until official information is released, we are all in limbo as to whether this ambitious game will be delayed.nomansskylore.jpg

Now to end it with some trailers. Deus Ex just released the “Mechanical Apartheid” video:

and Fall Out 4 releases Mod’s on Xbox One first today:

Deus Ex is much loved game on this team making it one of our upcoming games of the summer. However even more importantly, this is the first time Mods have ever been on a console system — What a time to be alive.

as @majornelson said “thanks for watching… see you in the wasteland”

TGIF: This Game Is Fun

Well it is Friday so why not have a run down of what has been fun this week.

First on the list and really not a ‘game’ Star Trek is back with a new teaser trailer of their new series set to begin on CBS. The new series will be available on CBS’s on-demand/streaming platform and CBS All Access early next year. To be honest we’re not sure what to expect in terms of characters and story from the new series but it is set to have buzz around it when it airs on television.

Next up is Battleborn. They are kicking of the weekend vibes with a double XP weekend for all their players this weekend; as a bonus there is also the introduction of the latest DLC character: Alani.

Alani “the warrior-monk healer” releases officially on May 31st for all platforms and can be unlocked for 47,500 of in game credits. However, if you were lucky enough to be part of the early PS4 beta you get the character during this early access weekend and of course Digital Deluxe & Season Pass holders will be able to get Alani immediately by using a Hero Key. — Looks like they are getting set for summer with more free characters to come.

Ex Konami Game Director Hideo Kojima, creator of Metal Gear solid, revealed his new logo’s inspiration, the full EVA (extra-vehicular activity) suit wearing Ludens. In a series of three tweets, Kojima spelled out what Ludens, a Latin participle of the root word “ludo,” which translates in English to “play,” means to the team. “Ludens, the icon of Kojima Productions,” he tweeted alongside the full picture posted below. “We’ll deliver THE NEW PLAY in THE NEW FUTURE with the cutting-edge equipment, technology, & the frontier spirit. The gear he’s wearing is the extra-vehicular activity(EVA) creative suit.”

Another minor thing in the gaming world is the upcoming E3 2016, set to showcase some of the line-up that gamers can expect from companies the likes of EA, Bethesda, Microsoft, Sony, PC Gaming Show and Ubisoft. Of course there will be other companies/Devs showcasing new technology like Samsung

And there was a little snippet of the week’s news

Bethesda Reveal: DLC Plans & Mods Confirmed For PS4

Fallout 4 is just two months away, which will likely speed by faster than we realize. With release approaching, Bethesda has revealed some of its plans for post-launch support.

As you might expect, there will be DLC coming down the road. Add-ons will start to appear in early 2016, but details are sparse right now. A season pass will be available for $30, with a guarantee that it will save at least $10 for those who purchase it.

We’ve known that mod support is coming for PC, with curated selections coming to Xbox One after. We now know that PlayStation 4 users will be getting those same mods, but some time after they hit Xbox One. The creation kit won’t be available on PC until early in 2016, so don’t expect these to start flowing to console for a number of months.

Finally, Bethesda says it will be tapping the community for its own post-launch updates. The developer references its work enhancing Skyrim with mounted combat, kill cams, and legendary mode as examples of what might be coming for Fallout 4. The company says it will listen to the community to help direct its efforts.

We still don’t know much about Fallout 4, and that’s by design. Bethesda is keeping story and gameplay out of our hands for now, in hopes that players get to discover it themselves. We’ll be exploring Boston’s wasteland together come November 10 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.

For more on Fallout 4, you can read our extensive breakdown of the attendee-only demo from QuakeCon.

Your Inner Artist | A Fragment of Her : Part 1

Welcome to a new playthrough of A Fragment of Her. This is a point and click adventure game about an art student called Selina. Selina decided to go study under her favorite artist. As always you can watch this playthrough at the bottom of this post. Also you can go download the game here.

entrance

The game begins in what seems like a waiting room for admission to the university. We click on a few painting on the wall and Selina gives us some commentary on what she thinks. We approach the secretary and she angrily tells us we should sit and wait. When we sit down, professor Seligmann (Selina’s favorite artist) comes into the room.

argue with selig

He comes in and seems quite full of himself. He asks for each of the other student’s paintings and gives quite harsh criticism. He finally gets to us and it seems he likes our painting at first. Our fate ends up being the same as everyone else’s. Selina doesn’t go down without a fight though. We manage to persuade him to allow us into his class.

classlibrary

The next day we start our lesson. All of classes will be held in the library. Seligmann explains that each week Selina must improve her art from the previous week. If she doesn’t improve she will be kicked out of the class. Seligmann seems to love woman’s body parts.

tomoko

Selina is worried about how she is going to manage each week. She decided that it would be a good idea to get some help from the other students in her class. Unfortunately they don’t want to talk to her at all. We decide to talk to a student siting by the window. His name is Tomoko and he is quite happy to talk to us. He tells us to not worry about the other students but also he somewhat gives us a slight warning to be careful around Seligmann.

tomoko again

Tomoko tells us that there are some books we can use to help improve our art. His last roommate had two books. He could not remember the names so we end up having to look for them. We make Selina look around and get some names of a few books. When we had looked everywhere we went back to talk to Tomoko about the names we found. After some discussion we find one of the books we need and find out that the other in out on loan.

flat

Selina gets the book and goes home. When she gets home she goes to her canvas and begins drawing her piece for the week. The book seems to have helped her understand more about art and what she needs to do. We also find out that Selina has nightmares, not really sure about what though.

review

We finish up the painting and take it to class. We give our painting to Seligmann. He finds our painting dark and creepy. He says that our painting feels like it goes under a person’s skin. His last words are to remember to consider the viewer. Selina seems quite down about the review. We go talk to Tomoko and he cheers us up some. Tomoko tells us that since Seligmann says art should consider the viewer, we should paint something that Seligmann likes. We come to the conclusion that we should try to study Seligmann’s style.

home

To study the paintings we need to buy a camera and take photos of the art. We go home to get our bank card passcode to buy the camera. This is where the episode ends.

Thank you for reading and for all of your support.

Don’t forget. Keep Being Awesome.
