Let’s Play Asteroids | Dead Space : Part 4

Welcome everyone to yet another Girl vs Game episode. April soldiers on through this great classic. As always you can watch the playthrough at the bottom of the post.

The chapter begins the way that every other chapter does. Isaac walks out of the tram and we get a little update on the situation. This chapter we are trying to repair the asteroid defense system of the Ishimura. We get to the bridge and go downstairs to where Hammond is. He tells us what to do and warns us that there is something big out there. Something we need to watch out for.

Right after meeting with Hammond we go back up to the bridge and would you look at that. We get a surprise visit from the brute. This is the big thing that Hammond was talking about earlier. The battle is long and hard as we use our strongest weapon to attack its weak point. Isaac comes out victorious and we head forward to our objective.

We entered a new area of the ship. The game introduces us to a new gameplay mechanic. Gravity is our friend as any necromorph is instantly thrown up into the ceiling and killed.

The game thought that the previous Brute was too easy for us so it decided to give us another but this time in a very small space.Yeah it didn’t end so well for us. After a few tries we managed to kill it and transferred power to the asteroid defense system.

We left that place and headed up to the bridge where we fought countless leapers. They were not fun at all. We then went down to the bottom floor of the bridge to re-route the control system junction box. After having fun in the room of death we made our way to the third floor.

The third floor started off really weird. A man appeared and said “Make us whole again”. This is usually something that is said by someone who is intoxicated by the marker. After bringing the asteroid defense system online we then had to cross the top side of the ship out in space. This was pretty awesome. We were trying to get to the asteroid defense system guns. We eventually got there after dodging some space debris.

Let the games begin. Manning the massive cannons to destroy large rocks started out fun. It lasted half an hour because we couldn’t survive long enough for Hammond to fix the automatic asteroid defense system. We eventually lasted long enough, crossed back to the bridge and headed towards the tram. This is where the episode ends.

Nau Uh | Threopods Playthrough

Ever wondered what it’s like to try to survive with dangerous dinosaurs all around you. Well you have the opportunity to experience it yourself in this awesome short point and click game. As always the playthrough is at the bottom of this post and here is the link to where you can play the game yourself.

Two people gather around a camp fire. When a Velociraptor ( if we get the dinosaur names wrong please correct us lol) decides it wants to rest with us too. After chasing off our friend we are left alone to fend off another one. Luckily our player is agile and we use the environments around us to set the Velociraptor’s tail on fire. Which it then flees the scene.

We begin tracking our friend picking up random things along the way that might come in handy. When we see the blood on the trail we fear that it is our friend but, our fears are put to rest when we see it was actually another dinosaur that was eaten.

We get to a place with a raging Triceratops, a bee hive and some smaller dinosaur that doesn’t want to share whatever the hell it is eating. After looking around we make a slingshot and aim it towards the Triceratops which makes it run away. This gives us the opportunity to move further.

We find our friend who seems to be in the Triceratops’s nest. There is even a baby in there. The triceratops returns and won’t let us rescue our friend. After some trickery we manage to get the Triceratops to fall down into the nest unfortunately killing it. What of the child?

Luckily we were kind enough to adopt the baby Triceratops and rested back at our camp fire. Our rest is disturbed once again with the emergence of an even bigger foe. Mr T-rex. This is where the game ends and where the playthrough ends.

Ori and The Spooky Forest : Part 11

Welcome everything to another playthrough of Ori and the blind forest. In this episode we make our way through the creepiest forest you have ever seen. It’s a short one. As always you can watch this episode at the bottom of the post. Enjoy

Last time we entered this crazy forest that seems to be alive and moving. We find a shrouded lantern which we need to bring the light to. This will clear this fog from the forest. The woods certainly has many ways to kill Ori.

The use of our skills is getting more and more complicated. The game demands more precision. Luckily the game has one of the tightest controls in a game we have ever played. After going through a fun projectile section The forest ends up forcibly changing itself. All of the environments change and new pathways prop up.

We set our eyes on a torch which we need to carry to the shrouded lantern. We have to make our way to it but first we get a new wall climb ability. This is where this episode ends.

Was It All Worth It In The End ? | Life is Strange Episode 3 Final

Welcome everyone to the last part of our Life is Strange playthrough. This last part we believe is probably one of the best sections of the series so far. As always you can watch it at the bottom of the post.

Last part we we fled and spent the night at Chloe’s. Max and Chloe discuss Rachel and young love. We need to get dressed but our clothes still smell of chlorine. Chloe suggests we wear Rachel’s old clothes. Chloe admits that she had a crush on Rachel and that she thinks Rachel and Max are the quite similar. The conversation takes an interesting turn when Chloe dares us to kiss her, which we do.

We get a text from Kate who is really grateful for what we did on the roof. We were just happy that she was alright. We aren’t too sure if she is going to return or not though. Max goes downstairs and helps Chloe’s mum make us some breakfast. There is so much to look at in this game that we simply cannot even write about all of it. Freakishly enough there are dead birds littered in the garden. We think our powers are destroying the world around us.

After finding the ingredients for breakfast we sit and chow down. Chloe’s mum shows us some old pictures of Chloe and Max when they were young. Chloe’s family is still very much grieving the lose of William Chloe’s father. While Chloe distracts her mum Max goes to the garage to see if we could find out anymore information about Rachel.

We look around the garage and find David’s computer password. All we find on his computer are some disturbing stalker information about Blackwell students. David returns in a bad mood and starts a fight. We are given the opportunity to bring out all the things we have found. It doesn’t end well as Chloe’s mum asks David to sleep at a hotel that night. It seems like a small victory for us.

Our next mission is to find out more information from Frank. To get this information we have to get into his RV. He has a guard dog so Max has to think of another way. Max has to use her powers to get the key from Frank who is eating in the Diner.

Max’s power lets us mess around a little with Frank. We get to use our powers to get information from the officer and Nathan by rewinding time after getting some clues. Eventually we get the keys from Frank and get into the RV by distracting the dog.

The RV has some secrets if you look hard enough and we find out that Rachel was seriously involved with Frank. Chloe felt betrayed by this information and decides to throw a tantrum. We leave the RV and head back to school. She drops us off at school to which we return to our room. Max takes some time to think things over and looks at the old picture of her and Chloe.

Max can hear things from the photo. As if she was looking into the distant past. After little mini game Max travels back, all the way back to when William (Chloe’s mum’s husband) was still alive. Throughout the playthrough of the game we have been told that when William died, the whole family changed. Max wants to save William from dying. William died because he was going to pick up Chloe’s mum from the groceries store. He was then involved in a car accident.

Max has to hide the car keys from him. We manage to hid them and convince William to take the bus. The future begins to change. Of course this is always a bad idea. Max comes back to an all too different future. She is part of the cool kids groups. Warren falls for Stella and not Max. David becomes the school bus driver. This isn’t the biggest and most shocking change.

We take the bus to Chloe’s house. There are dead whales on the shore of our beach. When we get there William opens the door. Max is happy as she feels like she accomplished what she wanted to. The universe always finds a way to bring back balance. Because William didn’t die Chloe became seriously ill. This future is not what we wanted and it is certainly not what Max wanted. The story telling in this game has gotten so great. We truly felt dread for what we did. This is where this episode ends.

The Wild Hunt Begins | Quick Look : The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt

Welcome everyone to this week’s quick look. Today we are playing the ever popular Witcher 3 Wild Hunt. As always you can watch the playthrough at the bottom of this post. As warning as the quick look does contain some nudity.

The opening cut scene begins. In a gritty animated comic a man narrates with his deep voice, the origin of magic and the monsters. He also tells us of the origin of the Witchers. It seems that society thinks of Witchers as monsters.

We are greeted with another cutscene right after selecting our difficulty setting. Geralt is following the tracks of Yennefer who seems to have crossed countless battlegrounds and has left a trail for them to follow.We then see Geralt sleeping and we enter his dream.

The game blesses us with almost seeing Geralt in all of his glory. Same with his lady friend Yennefer. After making ourselves presentable we leave to go train Ciri as she was left in the hands of Vesemir. This game looks as amazing as the trailers showed.

After playing around a little with the controls we head downstairs and find Vesemir sleeping and Ciri training outside. We end up going down there to give some training advice. After a lovely cutscene showing us just how skilled young Ciri is we follow her down to the training area.

Ciri seems to be quite trouble maker. She pays for it because everyone else gets to train with someone and she trains alone with a dummy. The game takes us through the fight system of the game. Many buttons to remember but we manage.

The training ends with some sort of vision showing Geralt unable to save Ciri as she is killed by the Wild Hunt. He awakens from the dream and we are given the opportunity to fight some real enemies in the form of Ghouls. They are nimble fast creatures but, they weren’t nimble enough to stand up against our silver sword.

A nice horse ride through the great terrain is made even better by the chatter between Geralt and Vesemir. We pass a burnt down house and a family grieving. We don’t seem welcome here so we continue on.

There is a man who is in need of some help as he seems to have been attacked by a Griffin. Vesemir is slightly wounded in the battle but the Griffin leaves with a horse it had started eating. The man we saved helped us by telling us that a nearby owned by his cousin could have some information about Yennefer.

When we arrive we are greeted with faces of disgust because of who we are. The man’s cousin offers us food and drink on the house and we start talking to some of the people in the Inn. A lot of them hate us so we end up having to use our powers of persuasion to get information. After talking to drunks, a wise scholar and knights we find a very observant merchant.

After talking to him he tells us that we should go to the Garrison as they might have the information we need. On our way out we learn that some people hate our presence so much that they pick a fight with us. A hand to hand fight ensues but the thugs are quickly dispatched. This is where the quick look ends.

Nicole Is That You ? | Dead Space : Part 3

Welcome everyone to this week’s Dead Space episode. You can watch the episode at the bottom of the post. Enjoy.

Isaac is tasked with refueling the main engine and fix the Ishimura’s gravity problem as it is being dragged down by the debris. We pick up a audio file. It seems as though the ship slowly fell into chaos as the infection started to spread.We make our way across what seems to be a large engineering space. We moved a few switches and the engine started to be refueled.

We now take Isaac towards gravity centrifuge.We encounter the bird type of necromorph that infects dead bodies. The bodies they infect end up being stronger than the usual slasher. After upgrading our weapons and getting the flame thrower we soldier on. We get stuck in a room as the ship’s A.I complains about contamination (referring to the necromorphs)

There is a creature that has been making large noises from a distance. It has made some holes in a wall where it had pulled a previous victim. We enter the gravity centrifuge room and start clearing the rom so that we can re engage the artificial gravity. We attach the generator modules and this creates a vacuum and there is a large rotating structure going around that could kill us.

We manage to leave and are instantly attacked by the tentacle monster. After shooting its weak points it lets us go and dies. We continue on to the fuel storage. After a battle out in space we make our way to what you would think is the loudest room you have ever heard.

After the loud room we see just how much the ship has been affected by the infection. The walls and doors are covered in whatever this organic life form is. We make it to the central computer that controls the refueling. We take a stand as the computer goes through the process of setting things up. Eventually the engines are fired and the ship is now moving away from the planet it cracked.

We make our way back to the tram and someone sounding like Nicole is trying to communicate to us via the radio. The question is how would she know that Isaac is even on the ship. We smell sabotage. We make it to the tram and that is where the episode ends.

Late Night Swim | Life is Strange Episode 3 : Part 1

Welcome to our playthrough of Life is Strange Episode 3. This playthrough is going to be split into two parts. As always you can watch the playthrough at the bottom of the post. Please do check out the previous two episodes if you haven’t already watched them as this post contains spoilers. You can check them out here.

After a quick recap of what happened in the last two episodes this episode begins during what seems like the evening of the Kate incident. The one thing that we like about this game is how well it creates an atmosphere with its scenes. The music is well selected to fit the mood and the visuals compliment it. Max gets a text from Chloe. It seems like they want to break into the school to see if they can find out any clues about what happened to Rachel.

It seems like the suicide attempt by Kate really hit everyone really hard. Everyone’s door plaque has a message hoping that Kate will come out of this ordeal fine. Max even points out the level of hypocrisy that is going on as a lot of the students wishing Kate well, are the ones who put her in this situation in the first place.

We start snooping around looking for some clues on what happened to Kate in Victoria’s room. We find out that Victoria and her friends are going drinking, Victoria is also a closet geek. We leave the dorms to the outside world. A beautiful night indeed. There is a bench for us to sit on and think about what happened. Simple game design mechanics like this really show that the developers aren’t afraid to let us just chill.

We hear what seems to be the voice of the principle. He is complaining at some door he cannot open. He seems to be drunk and we try to sneak past him but he catches us. We have to find a way around him and after awhile we figure out that if we rewind time to when he is complaining at the door we are able to just walk past him.

We make it to the front entrance to meet Chloe. Before we are able to make our break in, Victoria and Mr Jefferson are leaving the school. We over hear what their saying and it seems as though Mr Jefferson and Victoria are doing something a teacher and student should not be doing. She is also trying to bribe him to let her win the photo competition. The bribe turns into a threat and the conversation ends on a sour note.

We get into the school and get stuck at the principles office. It is locked and we have to get some help from Warren about making a makeshift door explosive. We go fetch the key ingredients needed for it in the school and return with our makeshift explosive. Door goes BOOM and alarm goes WAAA.

We make our way into the room and rewind time to then unlock the door from the inside. The game is certainly becoming smarter with the use of Max’s power. We look around the office finding files on all of the main students of Blackwell. The files tell us that Nathan’s family really has a hand in Blackwell and that there isn’t much information about Rachel apart from a cryptic message. Before we leave we are faced with a moral issue of stealing the handicapped fund to pay back Frank. We decide to leave the money.

Instead of leaving the school we end up going to the swimming pool. We take a nice stroll through the changing rooms of both genders. There are many little graffiti messages and doodles everywhere. After switching on the lights both of the characters decide to jump into the pool and just have a good talk.

Things instantly turn bad when the security guards enter the swimming pool and we now we have to play a game of hide and seek. Life is Strange just turned into a stealth game. We narrowly escape to outside and flee the scene in Chloe’s car.

We flee to Chloe’s house and spend the night. We wake in the morning and there is more talk between the two characters. This is where this part ends.

He’s Not Breathing | Grounded : Part 3

Welcome everyone to the next episode of Grounded. As always you can watch the episode here.

After the great chase that was in the previous episode we hid in our room. The chase ended and now we heard back to the ICU to check up on the man we were helping. Upon arriving there we pick up a staff room key but we find out that the injured man died. We don’t know if he died of his injuries or if he was killed by our stepfather.

Most of this episode is about fetch things to find a way to get the East Wing key. We end up finding our way to the staff lounge. We pick up a paperclip which we need to use to access one of the rooms in the dorms. We use the paperclip to unlock the door and we get some information about what happened to the hospital. The hospital collapsed and the outside world is trying to dig us out.

We then go to the vault with the passcode which we were given by the walkthrough guide as we couldn’t get one of the puzzles to start. We get money from the vault, we have no idea what this money will be useful for. The janitor’s note we found earlier in the playthrough said that we need to get a string and a magnet.

We find the string in one of the rooms near the rest room and the magnet in the staff kitchen. We put these two items together and go searching for this sink that apparently has the East Wing key. We eventually find the key in the female staff toilets. We finally make our way to the East Wing.

After walking around the even more creepy area we find a girl who doesn’t seem to want to talk to us. She doesn’t seem injured. We also somehow managed to break the game somehow as our character could walk of the map. This is where we end this episode.

We Aren’t Afraid Of You Kuro | Ori and The Blind Forest : Part 10

Welcome everyone to our next episode of the Ori and The Blind Forest playthrough. As always you can watch this episode here.

As we run through the beautiful environments that we first saw at the beginning of the game. Instead of feeling frustration for backtracking it is actually nice to see these environments again. A lot of the enemies that we faced before are now considerably weaker than before. This just helps to show the character progression. We also drop by to say hello to the great tree.

We travel west this time to the door we couldn’t open the last time. We are immediately faced with a new enemy. The new enemy seems like a smaller version of the great owl Kuro. Their sweeping attacks are quite difficult to deal with. There are many little areas you can explore to get extra life for example.

Surfing the air is still as awesome as we thought it would be. We are slowly heading towards the Misty Woods. Unfortunately for us we have a great obstacle in our way. Ignoring the warning we are given by our little spirit partner quickly results in our death. Kuro won’t let take a single step towards the Misty Woods. We turn back to find another way to get to the Misty Woods.

We eventually find another path to the Misty Woods which would hopefully get past Kuro. We have to drop some large boulders on her head in an attempt to get her to leave. It felt great watching Kuro flee after we unleashed the boulders on her.

This opened up the path ahead for us. We get a feather that fell from the beast and now we can glide through the air like a boss. This is where this episode of Ori and The Blind Forest ends.
